| After that I played various other events without really hitting the highs either, and although it's been disappointing the results are due more to the fact that money issues and of course influences have hurt my performances rather than just purely bad performances due to a swing fault. I'm learning from this I believe, and I suppose it's little like starting again on the amateur circuit in that you've to find your feet off and on course before beginning to make a successful impact.
My ambitions.... well for the upcoming season they are pretty much what they always are; to make a positive impact on the various tours I'm involved with through the season, improve my game mentally and physically as much as is possible to help make me as tough a competitor as my reputation demands. Obviously winning events has always been my main ambition, and despite not being particularly talented I believe through my career I must have something going for me to have achieved what I have in the last twenty five years... I suppose Simon might take quite a bit of credit for that among others over the past five years or so in particular I guess!

I certainly have plenty to go at in 2009, the EuroPro Tour runs from April to October, the Open Championship in July, the Players Tour from Feb to October too and perhaps even a couple of full European & Challenge Tour events also (but probably later in the year though... if I'm lucky enough to get invites of course!). However basically yes I'm trying to do the best I can where ever I tee it up, but so long as I can stay truly competitive, motivated, fit and successful in achieving realistic goals then success in the Seniors Tour in late 2010 & 2011 is the main ambition I have..... that is the real goal which I believe is attainable and if I can make it through the next couple of years as I'm hoping then God willing you'll see me competing regularly at top level in the Seniors both here and abroad! |
